The AA-5 aircraft was a series of light aircraft produced by the American Champion Corporation (formerly Bellanca Aircraft Corporation) from 1971 to 1984. The AA-5 series included four different models: the AA-5 Traveler, AA-5A Cheetah, AA-5B Tiger, and AG-5B Tiger. The planes had a low-wing design with a single engine and four seats. The AA-5B Tiger was the most successful model, with 1,265 units produced. The aircraft had a cruising speed of around 130-140 knots and a range of up to 700 nautical miles. The AA-5 aircraft series was known for its fuel efficiency and sleek design, and it became popular among private pilots and flight schools.
